Appropriate for General Studies students and has no prerequisites, though BS002 is suggested. 2 Credits A study of the Acts of the Apostles from an Orthodox Christian perspective. No prerequisites, though BS002 is suggested. Open to General Studies students. 2 Credits A study of the Gospel of Mark for for High School Students. No credit Collegiate level introduction to the Old Testament from an Orthodox Christian perspective. This course along with BS102, is a prerequisite for all other Scripture Studies courses from the 100 level on up. 3 Credits Collegiate level Introduction to the New Testament from an Orthodox Christian perspective. Prerequisite: BS101 This course along with BS101 is a prerequisite for all Scriptural Studies courses from the 100 level and higher. 3 Credits The difficult images and symbols in the Book of Revelation are best examined separately in a reliable commentary as this one based chiefly on the 5th-century commentary of St. Andrew of Caesarea. This course, takes us verse-by-verse through the mystical writing of St. John, interpreting each passage with the help of Scripture parallels and patristic references. 2 Credits A forum for candidates for the Licentiate in Canon Law to interact with the program mentor, access resources, obtain assignments, log study hours, and submit assignments. Prerequisite CL101 An in depth study of the application of the Canons of the Church on the parochial level. 3 Credits An overview of history of Western Rite Orthodoxy in general as well as the history and ecclesiology of the Synod of Orthodox Bishops of the Western Rite in particular. 1 Credit An overview of the administrative policies and procedures of the Synod of Orthodox Bishops of the Western Rite Archdiocese of New England & the Eastern States. 1 Credit An introduction to Orthodox Canon Law, the epitome of the Ancient Canons, their history and development, and their pastoral interpretation and implementation today. 3 Credits Standard Introduction to post-secondary educational writing for those with no previous college writing credits. 3 Credits The process of academic writing will be examined in detail. Six types of essays will be studied (the Five-paragraph essay, Critical essay, Compare and Contrast essay, Argumentative essay, Expository essay, and Research essay) along with the various parts of the thesis. Moreover, students will learn how to write a formal, college paper. 3 Credits Prerequisite ENG101 Presentation Writing 2 Credits This course is available only at one of our on site locations and not via distance. Prerequisite: ENG101 3 Credits In this course we will explore the basic teachings of Christian Orthodoxy.Self guided lessons with study questions.One to one exchanges with instructor.Designed for the student who has no, or very little, knowledge concerning the Orthodox Faith. This is a supplemental to our "Exploring Orthodoxy". An interesting little journey into what means to the student to follow the Western Rite Orthodox Traditions at different times within their studies. This is a deeper exploration of the Orthodox Faith in praxis and spiritual understanding. Self guided study, with reflection questions, one to one interaction with instructor. 3 Credits A self guided course that provides an overview of the role of the Blessed Ever-Virgin Mother of God within the Orthodox Church as well as its teachings about her. 1 Credit A basic introduction to Latin | Holy Apostles Seminary and School of Orthodox Theology offers both distance and in classroom programs of study.
